Admission tests

Once we receive your form and documents, we will let you know when and where you will sit the tests.

The tests
Written test
A short essay, so we can see how you organize and argue your ideas.
Interview
We want to meet you! We will talk about your motivations, your strengths and why you want to teach. It includes the teaching-motivation test.
After admission: Student Wellbeing diagnostics, which do not decide your entry
English Placement Test
We determine your level of English so we can place you in the right course.
Character Strengths Test
You will discover your social and emotional skills so you can build on them.
Study Habits Test
We identify your best practices and give you tools to improve.
Reading comprehension
We get to know how you read and understand, so we can support you where you need it.
Mathematics
We identify your starting point so we can offer the right support.

After admission

Once you are admitted we let you know, and your admissions advisor gets in touch to agree the payment terms and request the remaining documents. With the payment made, the Finance Office and Records formalize your registration.

Documents we will ask you for at that point
  • ICFES — Saber 11 results. If you have not sat it yet, proof of payment of the test registration.
  • Valid certificate of EPS health-system affiliation.
  • High school graduation certificate. If you graduated abroad, the degree validated by the Ministry of National Education.
  • Photograph on a white background, 3x4.
  • Authorization form for the verification of academic credentials. If you are a minor, signed by your guardians.

You do not need any of these documents to apply: applying only takes your personal details and your identity document.

Admission test sessions

The tests are taken in one of these sessions, every Wednesday from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Your admissions advisor will confirm which one we expect you at once you complete your application.

Transfers

The process by which ÚNICA authorizes the admission of a student coming from another higher education institution, in Colombia or abroad, provided the following conditions are met:

Pass ÚNICA's regular application and admission process.
Present a certificate from the institution of origin confirming the absence of disciplinary records.
Present transcripts and course syllabi endorsed by the institution of origin and legalized where applicable. Only courses from institutions recognized by the Ministry of National Education can be credited.
Only courses taken in the two years prior to the request can be credited.
A minimum cumulative average of 4.0/5.0, certified by the corresponding university.

Graduates of the Bachelor's in Bilingualism with a focus on Spanish and English are professionals qualified to teach in bilingual schools at middle, secondary and higher education level, or to work in companies and institutes as educational administrators and researchers, contributing to the improvement of education locally and nationally.
