Specialization in Bilingual Education

Program objective

ÚNICA, in partnership with Colegio Nueva Granada (CNG) in Bogotá, offers this program to train and update practicing bilingual teachers and bilingual professionals from other disciplines, through the best pedagogical practices, the most recent findings on first- and second-language teaching and learning, and the use of information and communication technologies in teaching.

Program approach

The program is practical in nature and pays particular attention to differentiated instruction, the acquisition and reinforcement of literacy, and learning difficulties, all approached with a research-minded, creative and rigorous attitude. It develops pedagogical, linguistic, research, technological, intercultural, communicative, cognitive and psychosocial competencies, applicable to teaching English as a second language, to pedagogical work in bilingual settings, and to solving the problems that come up day to day in the classroom.
